    The Civil War in West Tennessee:

By River and Rail

 

The exhibit by this name is now in the final planning stage with implementation of some parts already underway. Featuring artifacts, contemporary and period images, and quotations from the times, the exhibit will  center on Jackson and surrounding areas in a study of their strategic importance for both sides. Harbert Alexander, Board Chairman, chairs the exhibit committee. The first phase is expected to open September 14 at 10 a.m. Jason Jerrolds of Mid-South Color Labs, is pictured below  installing the sign high up on the wall in the exhibit room.

Handmade in West Tennessee

 

From September 21-23, the Museum invites craftspersonss from Jackson and the nearby  area to show their best work. Tables will be provided, and a reception from 5-7 on the exhibit’s opening night will honor all of the participants. If you would like to be one of the exhibitors, please contact us as soon as you can so we can allocate space. Tigrett Toy Exhibit will open to the public on September 21 with an opening reception from 5-7 p.m. Manufactured here in Jackson, TN, Tigrett toys were widely popular in the 1950s and continue to be popular among collectors. A wide selection of these toys will be displayed for your enjoyment.
